OLIM, the specialist investment managers, today launched their Charity Value and Income Fund, a new common investment fund which will invest in high yielding UK equities. The fund will be lead managed by Angela Lascelles, who has a successful record of managing high yielding equity portfolios, supported by the rest of the OLIM team.
The fund will aim to give a yield one third higher than that from the companies in the FTSE All Share Index. Today that would be 3.6% per annum. By investing in high yielding equities, charities will have the best chance to maximise their long term returns, without sacrificing too much investment income. We will aim to grow the distributions to fund holders at least in line with inflation. The fund has no initial charge and annual management charges are low at 0.5% per annum. With a minimum investment of just £1,000 the fund will be suitable for charities of all sizes who wish to benefit from OLIM's long term record of outperformance.
OLIM has been managing equity portfolios for clients for over twenty years. Pursuing value in unfashionable areas and investing for a growing income has delivered outstanding returns for our clients. These investment principles have generated total returns of 15.2%* per annum over this period for our longest standing client, an Oxford College, well ahead of average returns for equities at 11.0% per annum. Over shorter periods, for our charity clients, OLIM is in the top quartile of investment managers over 1, 3 and 5 years.
